Hey there! I have just a couple of things I want to write about today. I was going to write about a third topic, but it was getting really complicated, and I want to treat that subject a little more in depth than just a mention. I am making mug rugs, placemats and coasters, and I want to put that in a separate post with directions!
So, today will be all about a new toy that I am playing with, and the tomatoes! #tinytomatolife
Brother P-Touch Embellish
Yup, that’s the name of my new toy. I had been wanting a label maker for a while, and this one just seemed like it would fit in well with my crafting and my excessive use of washi tape.
It was easy to start making labels (I was making labels within minutes of opening the box) but some of the features are hard to work out. Some features don't work the way you'd think they would, and the instructions are a bit vague on some points. There are not too many videos online on how to use this thing either. There are a few. Perhaps I will feature them in a future post. It kind of depends on how much I wind up using this thing as to whether I blog about it more.
As for just general use and tasks, it’s easy to change ribbons but it kind of feels like you're going to break something at first. Also, ORDER A POWER CORD first off so you don't use so many batteries, but if you're going to save ribbons to use later you need to have the batteries in for backup.
The machine doesn't seem to print on washi tape as well as on the ribbons. I also wish there were ways of expanding fonts, colors, symbols, etc.
I’m not really sure if it's worth it yet, but I've been printing a lot of ribbons, nonetheless. I’ll make more posts about this toy only if it becomes a bigger part of my crafting.

Just a few points on this today. I am moving all the tomato stuff to a new blog, so that’s where the tomato updates will reside from now on.
The Aeorgarden was really easy to set up. I think I mentioned that before? Maybe not. The one plant that seemed to be lagging is catching up beautifully now. They are making such great progress I felt like I had to trim the roots already. The next major task will be to change out the water at the 30 day mark. Also, I have to figure out when to prune them for the first time. That will be scary!
As for the Aerogarden (or as I’ve come to refer to it the “Hydroponics Bay”) living there in the parlor, it is perfect where it is. The pump is not as noisy as some reviews had said, perhaps mine is a newer model that has been improved. Some people just use the Aerogarden to start seeds and then move the plants to pots. I’m not going to do that, at least not with this first bunch. I’ll just see how long they last in the Aerogarden.
Well, I think that’s going to do it for today. Sorry no pictures! I promise I will have more pictures some other time. And once I get the tomato blog situated, I’ll let you know about that, too. I have also cast on a shawl project for the first time in forever. I am using Shimmer Lace in a color called Lobelia (which I think is discontinued, too bad) so I’ll post about that, I ordered way too much yarn for the project, but now that I see that it is discontinued, I guess that’s a good thing.
See you next time!
